Leslieville: The Curzon

Leslieville is becoming one of the raddest neighbourhoods in the city, so it's only natural that it would be
home to The Curzon, right at Queen and Curzon (close to Queen and Jones). The exterior may be a bit deceiving with a black cube above the entrance - but make no mistake, this is a must go to bar. As soon as you enter, you will fall in love with the vibe. The furniture is so welcoming and so comfortable. No awkward bar tables and uncomfortable bar chairs, here you can sink into a deep couch or over-sized chair and enjoy the evening with some friends while watching our show.

The decor is Queen West hipster dive meets farmhouse. This could easily be the modern equivalent of Archie Lee and Baby Doll's home. It is a pretty special spot to have our last performance. Bittersweet for sure!  We heard a rumor though, that it can fill quickly up for a sweaty weekend dance party. If you stop by, say "hey" to J.J. from us!

Closest subway stop: Donlands and take the 83 Jones to Queen Street.

Or Take the Queen Streetcar to Jones Avenue.

Close to: The Duke

Date: Monday, May 7th - closing night!

Address: 1192 Queen Street East (Queen St. and Jones Avenue)

The Danforth: Magic Oven

It's been over a week since I first went into this venue...and I can't stop thinking about it! The food just smells so darn good. When you first walk into this restaurant you are met with the most intoxicating scents. You will start drooling. Hand crafted, healthy pizza? What could be better? Well, I'll tell you what! Not only is the food super delicious and super healthy but their menus are printed on recycled paper, their pizza boxes are made of recycled cardboard AND their plastic bags are degradable. This place is good for the mind, body and soul.

When you get there, make a left, go down the stairs and you'll hit the performance area. Although Archie Lee would not appreciate how healthy and environmentally conscious this restaurant is, he would certainly be satisfied with this supper!  This never ending craving will finally be satisfied at our Sunday show.  Oh, and did I mention they are offering discounted pizza and beer??? Seeya there!

Closest subway stop: Pape from the Westend, Donlands from the Eastend - walk to Woodycrest Avenue.

Date: Sunday, May 6th

Address: 798 Danforth Avenue

Cabbagetown: Kiwanis presented by the Kiwanis Boys and Girls Club

Kiwanis is an international service club founded in 1915. "Kiwanis tries to serve children and youth using two approaches. One attempts to improve the quality of life directly through activities promoting health, education, etc. The other tries to encourage leadership and service among youth". Based on that description, it is clear that Kiwanis and the Tennessee Project are a match made in heaven. All those involved with the project (especially the organizers) exemplify leadership and service in our communities. Tennessee Project members are not only role spectacular role models but their hard work and dedication to the project is truly inspirational. Not to mention the fact that theatre is a great activity for anyone and everyone to take part in! It's a great way to get some exercise, create bonds and develop leadership skills.

This venue is located in Cabbage Town and let me tell you - it's gorgeous. I would strongly suggest walking through the neighbourhood and taking the time to admire all the gorgeous houses. There are also beautiful little roads that you could miss if you aren't paying attention. The walk down Spruce Street towards Kiwanis is quite picturesque! Once you get there, walk up the stairs on the right and head to the multipurpose room on the left. This is a great space to do a show in. It's quite large and the acoustics aren't too bad either!

Closest subway stop: Castle Frank - take the 65 bus south to Carlton Street and take a left onto Spruce Street.

OR take the 506 Gerrard Streetcar to Sumach St and walk North to Spruce Street.

Date: Saturday, May 5th

Address101 Spruce Street (Gerrard and Sumach)
